Your analogy is flawed. In conditions such as those, the wet grass affects both sides. This problem was afflicting only NBSI. Your statement, in order to be acceptable, must be amended to say "Would you complain of losing a soccer match if everywhere you stepped, the grass was slippery, and everywhere the opposing team stepped, the grass was perfectly dry?"
Oh, and bsspewer, we are not blaming lag. We aren't assigning blame anywhere; all we are saying is that SOMETHING caused the error (be it lag, divine intervention, or anything in between) that we could neither predict nor prevent and therefore we should not be held accountable or made to suffer for it.
No, you perfectly know how the playing field is in EVE when you entered this fight. You know that lag is part of the game. You know that some times modules don't activate at once. And still you cry about this when you lose. That's poor sport.
And how do you know what the kind of lag the other team experienced?
Apparently, chief reason that R0CK lost the Cerb vs. UCC was because of initial module lag. Jim says that he was sorely lacking shield when his boosters finally kicked in, and by then it was too late. This is echoed by the rest of the pilots in that fight, there was nearly a minute or two of limbo (according to pilots, god knows that time stretches on when in the firing line) where "nothing happened", except for constant missile volleys from those that managed to activate them before lag kicked in.
So yes. What affected you, also affected our pilots. I don't care what went "wrong" with NBSI, it wasn't our fault, and they haven't proven conclusively that it was actually but or anything wrong with the game. Also, I've heard people say that the shield drones only came out after the vaga died.
At least you can hide your ego behind "exploits" like UCC did with Levin (lol), or bizarre lag, or weird bugs that haven't been reported in any other situations, or whatever. Our pilots just lost to BoB because of split-second errors.
Guess what; they didn't try to come up with excuses. R0CK > NBSI
